# BioExcel Building Blocks

[BioBB](http://mmb.irbbarcelona.org/biobb/) is a software library for interoperable biomolecular simulation workflows.

The **BioExcel Building Blocks (biobb) software library** is a collection of Python wrappers on top of popular **biomolecular simulation tools**.

The **library** offers a layer of **interoperability** between the wrapped tools, which make them **compatible** and prepared to be directly **interconnected** to build complex **biomolecular workflows**.

All the **building blocks** share a **unique syntax** , requiring input files, output files and input parameters (properties), **irrespective of the program wrapped**.

The available **building blocks** are divided in [**categories (biobb modules)**](http://mmb.irbbarcelona.org/biobb/availability/source) depending on their **functionalities** and **tools wrapped**.

### Availability

The blocks can be [launched](http://mmb.irbbarcelona.org/biobb/availability/launch) on the web or [installed](http://mmb.irbbarcelona.org/biobb/availability/download) locally. [Documentation and source](http://mmb.irbbarcelona.org/biobb/availability/source) are available for each building block.

You may use this forum to ask the BioExcel staff for assistance in using the BioExcel building blocks.
